Workshop Summary:
The class focus will be on the observation of natural things.
The students will learn the logic of light and shadow, where the light comes from and how it impacts the object they are drawing or painting, and other basic principles in art such as : shape, form, composition, perspective, line and expression.
Date/time: May 30th, 4-6 pm PST, 2 hours
Level: all levels, students aged 6 – 10 yrs old
Materials needed:
1. A piece of sandpaper for each student, sized 8.5 x11 inches ( 23 cm x 28 cm) or larger
2. A set of oil pastel, 12 – 18 sticks (12 - 18 different colors) or another set of dry media, such as ; colour pencil, soft pastel, or crayons
3. A small board for mounting the sandpaper
4. Computer with video & good wifi connection
5. Printer access. Teacher sends a photo via email prior to the lesson. Please print photo and get it ready to use in class.

Ipung Purnomo is an Indonesian visual artist, an award winner and a published artist.
Ipung has been painting since he was a kid and is mostly a self-taught artist.
He has participated in art events nationally and internationally. Few exhibitions were held in Indonesia and some exhibitions were held overseas such as, Vietnam, Italy, UK, USA, Columbia, France, Poland, Netherlands, and Japan. Ipung's work has also been included in international publications: International Contemporary Artists,International Contemporary Masters,and Inter-Asia Cultural Studies Journal.
